Witherwhite is distilled from the bark of certain evergreen trees native to northern Eisen; the bark is typically steeped into a tea which is given to the victim, (To avoid suspicion, the poisoner often drinks the same tea, secure in the knowledge that he has ten days to return home and ingest the antidote.) Symptoms of witherwhite poisoning include weight loss, skin flaking, and extreme pallor.
